Part 1

Its my 13th birthday and I'm not happy. Mother made this big surprise party for me. She invited everyone from my class. Everyone is downstairs having a fun and I'm here in my room under the excuse of a severe stomachache.

I wish I didn't have to be here. I wish everyone would leave me alone and go outside to read a book under a tree.

Everyone showed up with a present, but some I liked more than others. Beatriz gave me this amazing copy of "The Alchemist" that I can't wait to devour while Isabel came with this video game.

She really doesn't know me. She doesn't know how I hate video games. Where's the fun of staying inside glued to a tv set and a machine that does not cultivate your intellectual?

"Are you feeling better, Honey?", asked mom opening the door and letting the noise from the party come in.

"Yes, I think it was the cake", I answered without turning to her.

"Ok" said Mom as she closed the door.

Turing over and looking at the ceiling I started to wonder if it is possible that someone could be wathcing me. I started to imagine figures in the ceiling.

That looks like a sheep. That as a car. And that looks like...eyes? Not just eyes, but now a face. Its very weird. It's alive!

"Who are you?", I asked

"Benu", the creature answered as it came down from the ceiling. My heart was beating fast, really fast.

I was scared and got up from bed and opened the door so everyone at the party could see this creature. No one was there. They all had vanished.

"There's no need to be afraid Daniel", the creature said.

"But where's everybody" I asked hoping the creature would have the answer.

"They don't matter anymore. Now there's only you and me"

"Where did you come from?"

"From a place called Taire. I know you will love it there. Everyone there has your same passion for literature"

"Really? That sounds strange. Everyone in my class is more interested in video games and getting a girlfriend"

"I know, that's why Im here. To ask if you would like to come to my world. If you don't like it, you can come back anytime you want"

"Ok", I asnwered

He walked over to where the light switch is and flipped it.

Suddently we weren't in my room anymore. We were in a very bright place where everything smelled like candy and chocolate.

We were flying high over a big city. The buildings were bright white and the sky was very blue.

"What are you?" I asked looking at his grey eyes.

"My name is Benu"

"I know your name, but what are you? My name is Daniel, and I'm a human. Now what are you?"

"I am light"

"Light?"

"Yes, light. What's wrong with that?"

"Well, light is something that has no life. And here you are, talking and flying with me over this beautiful city"

"Daniel, you still have lots to learn"

"How much do you know?"

"About what?"

"Everything"

"Lots"

"Like?"

"I know you like to read and be alone.?

"Do you know where we go after we die?"

"Yes"

"Where?"...
